Unbound Visual Arts (UVA) is a unique Allston-Brighton based non-profit art organization. We serve the Greater Boston community with impactful educational programs and exhibits to encourage learning, engagement, and change. In our work, we aim to explore topics, subjects, and concerns that are relevant to our contemporary moment and in doing so, we’ve examined issues such as environmental sustainability, health and wellness, and gender and racial equity. Our choice to focus on topics such as these exemplify our belief that art is a catalyst for transformation with the potential to interrogate societal norms. Ultimately, we organize exhibits that not only celebrate creative forms of expression but also offer narratives that challenge, inspire, and redefine perspectives.
Since 2012, we have presented over 80 independently curated art exhibitions and programming across the Greater Boston area. In December 2021, we opened the Arthaus Gallery (Allston-Brighton) and in November 2023, we opened the Overlook (Brighton) — our second dedicated exhibition gallery. With these two spaces, we look forward to providing more exhibiting opportunities for local artists while continuing to create meaningful stories through art.
