The approximate MINIMUM number of 2-dimensional works is 12-20 depending on the sizes of the work. The maximum number is 30-40 depending on the sizes of the work. 3-dimensional works will have a wide variety of minimum and maximum numbers. Complete installations will also be considered.
Since its first exhibit in 2012, Unbound Visual Arts has presented over 75 professionally curated and theme-based group and solo exhibits. These exhibits have resulted in many sales and a great deal of publicity, including many receiving recommendations by The Boston Globe, WBUR’s ARTery as well many other media outlets. With the opening of UVA’s in-person Arthaus Gallery in Allston in late 2021, UVA is now offering both in-person and virtual gallery exhibits.
Mission: Unbound Visual Arts (UVA) is a unique Allston-Brighton based non-profit art organization. We serve the Greater Boston community with impactful educational programs and exhibits to encourage learning, engagement, and change.
All members also have opportunities to be respond to “calls for art” which are regularly advertised to UVA members for its group thematic exhibits. As UVA wants its artists to be able to focus their time and energy on their art, an artist that is part of a UVA exhibit can expect that:
- All exhibits are professionally organized and curated. Exceptions are made for solo exhibits which may be self-curated;
- All exhibit designs, installations and de-installations are managed by UVA;
- All publicity, including social media, postcard and website pages, is managed by UVA;
- All opening receptions are managed by UVA and will usually include live music and refreshments;
- All exhibits are placed on UVA’s website for public viewing and art purchases;
- All sales are handled by UVA; all sales will require a 35% commission to UVA; and
- All exhibits are covered by UVA’s art insurance.
Once we receive your proposal, UVA’s Exhibits Committee will review it. It we need additional information, we’ll let you know. If the Committee, approves moving forward with an exhibit, we’ll do our best to organize an exhibit during your preferred time frame. You’ll also receive our standard Exhibit and Loan Agreement to review and execute, which outlines the roles and responsibilities of the artist (s) and UVA.
